Our name means something

In Japan, there's a word for the kind of skin everyone quietly wants: mochi hada — mochi skin. Soft, smooth, plump, with a texture so even that light seems to sit on it rather than catch in it.

It isn't a marketing term. It's what Japanese women have described for generations, and it comes from a bathing culture that treats exfoliation as ordinary daily maintenance rather than an occasional luxury.

That's where SkinMochi started.

The thing nobody tells you about dry skin

You can moisturize every night for years and still feel rough, flaky, and dull.

The reason is simple: as skin ages, it sheds dead cells more slowly. That layer builds up. And when it does, moisturizer doesn't sink in — it sits on top of the buildup, which is why so many women feel like their expensive creams have stopped working.

The problem was never the moisturizer. It was what was in the way.

Why our towel is four feet long

Traditional Japanese style body towels are long for a reason. A four-foot towel can be held at both ends and drawn across your back like a ribbon — which means you can finally reach the places a loofah, a sponge, or your own hands never could.

That length is the entire point. It's also what makes exfoliating feel like something you do in thirty seconds in the shower, rather than a routine you have to remember and eventually abandon.

The weave does the work. No scrubs, no beads, no harsh acids, no complicated steps.

Who we make this for

Our customers are mostly women in their forties, fifties, and sixties who have tried a great deal and been disappointed by most of it. They aren't looking for a miracle. They're looking for something that actually does what it says and keeps doing it.

We've read every review we've received — hundreds of them — and they shaped everything that came after the towel: our facial towel, our body oil, our post-exfoliation moisturizer. Each one exists because customers told us what was missing.
